Christmas Photos

When my family was here over Thanksgiving we ventured out to try and get a picture of all three girls. My sister has a little girl named Maddy. So we attempted to get a cousin pic. Well it is virtually impossible to get a 2 year old and a 16 month old to stay in the same vicinity and look at the camera and smile. We finally broke out the balloons to keep them entertained. This was the best we got:
(Notice Abby just chilling in the background...it is so nice when they are not mobile although I think she got stepped on quite a few times!)

Sweet little Abby
Sarah caught mid action! She was probably attempting to run out of the room!
Both of the Land girls together.
All and all it was a successful trip although the adults were certainly exhausted afterwards.

A note to visitors.....

Biz's mom told me this poem the other day and it is so true:

"The cleaning and scrubbing will wait for tomorrow,
For children grow up, as I've learned to my sorrow,
So quiet down cobwebs. Dust go to sleep.
I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep."

This would explain why my floors need to be mopped, carpets need to be vacuumed and there is laundry strewn all about upstairs! Oh well :)

Santa Claus

Abigail loved Santa.
Sarah not so much!
Attempting to run away from this scary old man....
Very excited to finally be away from that awful man and going down the slide!!

Sarah's Birthday Party

Finally here are some pictures from Sarah's birthday party. She had a great time and enjoyed opening all of the presents and eating cake! She picked out the puppy cake from my cake book so we had a puppy themed party. Abby also enjoyed the festivities and slept 8 hours that night! She certainly hasn't done that since then...I guess I need to have a party every night.

Sarah and Lily playing with Sarah's new doctor kit. They were so cute playing doctor together!
Abby hanging out with her good friend Connor. They are only two weeks apart!
Sarah got some princess pajamas for her birthday and will NOT take them off :) We wear them for at least 48 hours when we have them on...I can barely get them off of her when we go out (and yes we have worn them to the grocery store before!) She calls them her "girl" pajamas.

My Girls

Since Sarah just turned two, I thought I would write a little bit about her personality and things she likes to do :) Sarah is definitely a more reserved little girl (gee I wonder where she gets that from!) She is a little timid at first and likes to sit back and take everything in before jumping into a situation. So far she seems to have quite the little engineer brain! She loves to take things apart and see how to put them together. Most recently we love puzzles. She is also obsessed with buckling things.....the other day when we were in a consignment store she went down the aisle of strollers and made sure every single one was buckled. Safety first! Her favorite show in the world is WordWorld on PBS. She is mesmorized by it...which definitely comes in handy when I am feeding Abby. She is a VERY picky eater except when it comes to cheese, milk and anything with tomato sauce. Just this week she started talking in multi-word sentences. Her longest sentence so far has been "Abby go please." (She wanted Abby to go down the slide..I think...maybe she just wanted her to go away :) ) Here is a picture of Sarah on her birthday enjoying the doctor's kit that she got.

And because I don't want Abby to already have a complex about being the second child I will write a little bit about what we have learned about her the past 8 weeks! She has just started smiling and does it most often while getting her diaper changed. Abby is a very different baby than Sarah was...Abby does not like to sleep during the day but usually does a 4-5 hour stretch of sleep at night. Sarah was the exact opposite...she could sleep during the day but was up at least three times during the night. Abby likes to scream between the hours of 7pm-12. She is getting better but man when she is not happy she lets you know it!! She came into the world screaming and it doesn't seem like she intends to stop anytime soon. It is still too early to really see her real personality but I am excited to watch her grow. Here is a picture of one of her sweet little smiles...it makes the screaming worth it.

Happy Birthday Sarah!

It is hard to believe that our baby girl turned two yesterday! Here are some pictures over the past two years:

We are truly blessed to have such a sweet little girl! We thank God for every day we have with her.

Sisters

So far Sarah has been a great big sister! Here are some photos to prove it:

Abigail looks slightly frightened in this photo:
Sarah also likes to copy everything I do with Abby with her baby doll Ne-Ne. The other day she wanted to wear my wrap and of course carry Ne-Ne around. It was pretty cute :)
