Nana comes to Jersey!

On Wednesday, Nana came into New Jersey to visit both of her girls together. She baby-sat Maddy and Sarah on Thursday so that Cam and I could go into the city together by ourselves!

Sarah was SO excited to be drinking out of a big girl cup!

She was also thrilled to be able to hold her milk cup and big girl cup at the same time!

New York City: Day 1

While we were in New Jersey, we decided to go into the city for a day or two to see the sites. The first day we went we took the whole gang! We packed up a 16 month old and an 8 month old, 2 strollers and lots of snacks and we're on our way. Overall it was a pretty good day. Sarah got fussy after lunch time and threw a nice little fit in the restaurant but was all good after she got back in her stroller and fell asleep. Sarah had a great time in FAO Schwartz kissing and saying bye bye to ALL of the stuffed animals!

Easter Egg Hunt!

On Easter my sister and I decided to put on a small Easter egg hunt for Maddy and Sarah. The weather however did not cooperate so we had it in their basement :) We used plastic eggs filled with Cheerios. Sarah sort of got the idea...for the rest of the week whenever she found a plastic egg she would shake it and look for Cheerios.

Trip to New Jersey Part II

After we went to Penn State we finally got to Jersey to see my sister and my cute little niece Maddy! Maddy is 8 months old and is such a ham! She has the best smile. She was so close to crawling the entire time we were there and then finally crawled for us the last night! (Video to follow soon) Here are some pictures...as you can see we still have trouble getting that perfect picture of the two of them! Maybe one day!

This is how Maddy waves at people when you come in the room! I think she thinks she is a queen and everbody should bow to her!!

Sarah was not having this picture session!!(but in her defense it was naptime)

Aunt Jen with both girls!

Trying to get an Easter picture....Sarah is really into showing her belly lately!

I think they are saying stop taking pictures of us!

Trip to New Jersey Part I

Over Easter we took a trip to New Jersey to visit my sister, brother-in-law and niece. We had a great time! The first part of our trip we stopped at Penn State to see our friend from Blacksburg, Alan. Alan showed us all around the campus and was an excellent tour guide. Here are some pictures from our adventure.

Sarah sleeping in the hotel room.

Penn State is right in the middle of a bunch of farmland.

Alan said we had to get a picture with the lion.

And of course Joe Paterno!
P.S. Sarah's highlight of the day was her orange balloon!

Really?

The other day I tried to get a picture of Sarah in one of my old dresses. My mom has a picture of me in this dress around the same age in her family room so I wanted to get one of Sarah to compare. Yeah...she was NOT in the mood...maybe we'll try again later!

Sarah's Words

It amazes me how much Sarah has grown in just the last couple of months. It seems like she is learning something new everyday and it is so neat to watch her experience the world. She is starting to talk more which is so much fun! So far she says (in order of most frequency):
UH OH-this one is common when she spills milk on the floor and then looks for a napkin to clean it up
HI KITTY- whenever we see the kitty...which is then followed by pulling their tails
ALL DONE- she gives us about 1 second notice of all done before she starts taking her bib off
THANK YOU- really sounds like dan du...but she really is quite polite
BALL- this one works for ball and bubbles..sounds like bu bul
CHEESE- newest word this week
BYE BYE- die die

Of course she says Dada when we hear the garage door opening in the evening and she sometimes says Mama when she is crying. Today she was organizing her hair bows and she all of a sudden looked up at me and said "dkajfe jdakf jeiojkvjj es fajeka j" With all this expression like we were having a conversation. I just said "oh ok" and then she went back to what she was doing. I can't wait for the day when I can acutally understand what she is saying! I know she has a lot to say :)
