Abby's Hair

From the beginning, I have said that Abby has some crazy hair...and it just continues to get crazier! She really hasn't lost much since birth. I think it has thinned out a little bit but it has certainly grown in length. I never know what her hair will be like on any given day...I think she already needs product! After a bath it is filled with tight curls but then as it dries it gets straight. Usually it just sticks straight up in all different directions. The color also remains a mystery...it is mostly still dark but if you look closely her roots are blonde it also has a tint of red to it! It remains a mystery how her hair will actually turn out.....I'll keep you posted.
The picture below is after a bath when her hair was still in the wavy stage:

And this is how I found her the other morning when she woke up. (She had been sleeping in her carseat b/c she had a cold and was really congested. She is all better now.) Somehow her hair had formed a mohawk.

Zia and the Children's Museum

My sister, Elizabeth, was able to visit us last week. She lives in Italy and was in the states for a couple of weeks. Sarah (and Abby) had so much fun seeing Zia! (Italian for Aunt) While she was here we got to go to the Children's Museum. My mom gave us a membership for Christmas and so far we have already gone four times! Sarah LOVES the new Barbie exhibit. She had never seen a Barbie before but now she is obsessed! What is it about those dolls? Her favorite is still the Yule Slide...I think she is going to be really disappointed when we go back and the slide is gone!

At first Sarah wasn't sure about putting on the clothes and walking on the pink runway but then she saw two other girls doing it and before we knew it she was running backstage. She quickly picked out a pink dress and walked out on the runway!

3 months old

It is hard to believe that Abby is already 3 months old! Time certainly does fly. Abigail is a sweet little thing and is starting to show a little personality. Lately she is quite the smiley little girl and will smile at anybody who comes and plays with her. She especially loves to smile at mommy in the morning. Don't let her sweet smile fool you though! If she wants something she will let you know. She is a pretty good sleeper and usually takes a long nap in the afternoon :) and sleeps a 5-6 hour stretch at night. Also-she prefers her milk straight from the tap...apparently she is appalled that we would even think she should drink it from a bottle....we are working on that one. Currently at 3 months she weighs 11 lbs 7 oz and was in the 20th percentile for weight and the 60th percentile for height at her 2 month appointment.

Christmas

We had a great Christmas with Cam's family. Sarah really enjoyed opening all of her presents and especially enjoyed the "girl" and Elmo wrapping paper! Here she is before we started opening presents...she was ready to rip into those things!

Abigail excited for her first Christmas!!

Christmas Photos

When my family was here over Thanksgiving we ventured out to try and get a picture of all three girls. My sister has a little girl named Maddy. So we attempted to get a cousin pic. Well it is virtually impossible to get a 2 year old and a 16 month old to stay in the same vicinity and look at the camera and smile. We finally broke out the balloons to keep them entertained. This was the best we got:
(Notice Abby just chilling in the background...it is so nice when they are not mobile although I think she got stepped on quite a few times!)

Sweet little Abby
Sarah caught mid action! She was probably attempting to run out of the room!
Both of the Land girls together.
All and all it was a successful trip although the adults were certainly exhausted afterwards.

A note to visitors.....

Biz's mom told me this poem the other day and it is so true:

"The cleaning and scrubbing will wait for tomorrow,
For children grow up, as I've learned to my sorrow,
So quiet down cobwebs. Dust go to sleep.
I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep."

This would explain why my floors need to be mopped, carpets need to be vacuumed and there is laundry strewn all about upstairs! Oh well :)
